On the 18th of November the members of the Coalition of the Willing Promote Pollinators and some interested others joined in a meeting to exchange experiences and discuss the organization.

On 14 and 15 December, at the Campus of the Jheronimus Academy of Data Science, the BigData4Bees hackathon will take place. Pre-selected teams that are committed to building data driven solutions to help save the bees will be delving into Big Data and Bees.
Please allow me to introduce myself- My name is Abram Bicksler and I am the new FAO focal point for pollinators and am resident in the Ecosystem Management and Agroecology team (AGPME) at headquarters in Rome. It is a great honor to be in this role and to see the excitement and urgent need surrounding the conservation and sustainable use of pollinators.
20 September 2018: On a sunny day on a wine estate in the Betuwe region, 12 new partners signed the NL Pollinator Strategy ‘Bed & Breakfast for Bees’ and thereby committed themselves to its goals.
On 1 June 2018 the European Commission adopted the first-ever EU initiative to address the decline of wild pollinating insects. Around one in ten bee and butterfly species is on the verge of extinction in the EU, and a third of them have a declining population trend. Regional and local declines have been also recorded for other pollinator taxa.
From 4 to 6 September the Biodiversity and Ecosystemservices Network (BESNet) organized a trialogue on pollination in the Caribbean region. The meeting took place in the Dominican Republic, the city of Santo Domingo.
During the CoP 14 in Sharm-el-Sheikh, there will be several events that highlight the importance of pollinators.
The ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands published a leaflet including three stories about the efforts made to protect bees.
