Spanish Environmental Sectorial Conference adopts Strategy for Conservation of Pollinators
On September 21, the Spanish Environmental Sectorial Conference adopted a national strategy for the conservation of pollinators.
Setting targets
The strategy (available in Spanish only) outlines the state of pollinators in Spain, as well as the main causes for their decline. It sets targets and measures for the conservation of wild pollinators, focussing on four main areas of action: promotion of habitats for pollinators; improving the management of pollinators and reducing the risks caused by pests, pathogens and invasive species; reduction of the risk caused by the use of phytosanitary products; and enhancing research to help fill existing knowledge gaps and to disseminate and facilitate access to this information.
