Online Campaign for World Bee Day

May 20th is World Bee Day. This is the perfect opportunity to highlight the urgency of our network and the relevance of our joint efforts.

Lee Sun Ju from South Korea, one of the members of Promote Pollinators, is taking action by organising an online campaign. She is challenging countries throughout the world to take a photo of a representative of the national pollinator strategy – or anyone else in a representative position regarding pollinators – holding a sign with the word ‘bee’ in their national language, as well as the English pronunciation next to it (for example, in Korean: ‘꿀벌’ pronounced as ‘kkool-beol’), and to share this photo on social media using the hashtag #weneedhoneybee and #biodiversity2020 (IPBES). This will result in an online wave on May 20th! The Netherlands is ready to join. Are you too? Together we can make this a trending topic.
