Recap: working session + Sign-up Event IPBES-7

On the 29 April the members of Promote Pollinators and some interested others joined in a meeting to exchange experiences, present their national strategies and discuss the organizational model. On 1 May Burundi joined the coalition. Prior to the sign-up of Burundi, the representative of Costa Rica also expressed their intention to join our coalition by the next meeting of Promote Pollinators.

Policy brief: Protect pollinators in the Common Agricultural Policy beyond 2020

We are pleased to inform you that the members of the Belgian Pollinators expert group of the SG biodiversity created a policy brief drawing attention to the importance of taking into account pollinators in the review of the common agricultural policy.

Signing of the Declaration on the Coalition of the Willing on Pollinators

A small but important step on CoP 13 on Biological Diversity

Perhaps not of the biggest international political importance, but one of the highlights of the Conference of the Parties on Biodiversity was the set up and signing of the Declaration on the Coalition of the Willing on Pollinators. Thirteen countries signed in Mexico and many countries, organisations and businesses want to join. “The declaration is a good start in worldwide protection of pollinators since they are not bind by borders”, one of the signatories declared.
